Chandu Mhatre is a photojournalist, who worked for four decades, documenting celebrities, common people, places and events of history in the making, with his camera.

Traversing the lanes, beaches, places and streets of Mumbai city, he captures the changing moods of this vibrant city. These photographs depict the changing face of Mumbai, which is a melting pot of diverse cultures. He has emerged as a serious visual commentator on the contemporary scene.

His photographs are sensitive. He makes no effort to have the proper frame or balance of forms and objects, no thrust to capture bright and beautiful. He effortlessly moves with in the city from influential South Mumbai to far-flung North Mumbai capturing visuals of the subtle changes.
